Poland has a seen a dramatic rise in on demand viewing during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Wirtualne Media, quoting data produced by Gemius and published by One House, Netflix.com was visited by 2.82 million internet users in the period March 16-22, or 20.5% more than the average weekly figure in February.
It was followed by Player.pl (1.84 million, +87%), vod.pl (1.8 million, +19.6%), Cda.pl (1.34 million, +30%).vod.tvp.pl (1.33 million, +10%), the VOD portal Wp.pl (1.09 million, +13%), Hbogo.pl (0.79 million, +21%) and ipla.tv (0.63 million, +50%).
Looking the previous week, March 9-15, according to Gemius/PBI the 10 leading VOD providers had of total of 11.16 million visits in the age group 7+.
This was 17.5% more than in an average week in the period February 3- March 1.
Netflix was again in top spot with 2.66 million visitors and 21.24 million opens, followed by vod.pl with 1.75 million visitors and 4.14 million opens.
