Cyfrowy Polsat has confirmed that its subsidiary Telewizja Polsat is in negotiations and has submitted an offer to buy a 100% stake in the Interia Group of companies.
The companies are being sold by Bauer Media Invest and Bauer Polen Invest and, according to Cyfrowy Polsat, the talks are still at an early stage “and their outcome as well as the likelihood of their successful completion are still uncertain”.
Telewizja Polsat is one of the top two leading commercial broadcasters in Poland, while Interia’s assets include a number of web portals.
Cyfrowy Polsat confirmed its interest in Interia in response to a number of press reports.
