Alexander Zharov, currently the head of the Russian regulator Roskomnadzor, is to become the new CEO of Gazprom Media.
RBC reports that the position at Gazprom Media has been vacant since January, when its former occupant Dmitry Chernyshenko became deputy PM.
Zharov has held the top position at Roskomnadzor since 2011, prior to which he occupied senior roles in the government and public broadcaster VGTRK.
Gazprom Media’s assets include the TV channels NTV, TNT, Pyatnitsa,Match TV and TV3.
