NENT is to temporarily reduce the cost of its sports packages following the postponement of both Nordic and international sports events due to the global spread of the Coronavirus.
The company says the spread of Covid-19 risks the company’s ambition to deliver profitable growth during 2020.
The price for the Viaplay direct to consumer packages including Sports will be reduced to the same price as the Viaplay TV and Movies package – so to SEK 109 per month in Sweden; to DKK 99 per month in Denmark; to NOK 119 per month in Norway; and to €9.99 per month in Finland. The prices will apply for existing customers and are effective immediately.
NENT Group had 1.568 million Viaplay customers at the end of December 2019, of which the clear minority are sports customers.
Among the events postponed or paused that are in NENT’s portfolio are the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, Superliga, NHL and Bundesliga.
Viaplay’s offer of original productions, international films and series, and premium kids’ content is unchanged.
