RTL Group has posted a highest ever annual revenue of €6.7 billion for 2019.
This was 3.2% more on an underlying basis than the previous year and the fifth consecutive year of record revenues.
Meanwhile, adjusted EBITDA was broadly stable at €1.16 billion despite higher investments and its profit up 10.1% to €864 million.
Digital revenues were up by 8.9% in 2019 to €1,073 million and account for 16.1% of the group’s total income, compared to 15.1% in 2018.
RTL Group’s streaming revenues from TV Now (Germany) and Videoland (Netherlands) rose by 46.7% to €135 million.
RTL Group notes that its revenues were well diversified in 2019, with TV advertising claiming the highest share at 44.2%.
Significantly, the group had 1.44 million paying customers for its streaming services as of the end of 2019, up 37% on a year earlier.
The viewing times of the two services increased by 31% and 45% respectively.
