Amazon has stopped offering Prime Video for free to viewers in parts of Italy most affected by coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to Tutto Android, this follows a government decree dated March 9 that extended restrictions to contain the virus to the entire country.
Prior to this, when Amazon made its offer, they only applied only to the northern part of the country (designated the ‘Red Zone’), encompassing some 16 million people, or a quarter of the population.
The offer was originally valid until March 31.
In other developments, the Italian public broadcaster RAI is reported to have significantly strengthened its programming aimed at young people in all its services.
These included not only its generalist Rai 2 but also Rai Yoyo and Rai Gulp, which target pre-schoolers and older children respectively.
