Deutsche Telekom is planning to sign off the sale of Telekom Romania by April.
Quoting industry sources, Ziarul Financiar reports that such an action will be without waiting for the opinion of the Romanian state, which holds a minority stake in the telco and has yet to select consultants to assist in the discussions.
This will allow Telekom to complete the transaction by the end of the year, as the EC will probably take 8-9 months to give its approval.
Ziarul Financiar adds that Telekom is in talks with both Orange and Digi (RCS&RDS).
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Telekom’s subsidiary OTE, the majority owner of Telekom Romania, asked last summer for companies to put indicative bids on the table.
The sale has since stalled despite Telekom’s eagerness for it to be completed.
