SPI/FilmBox and Telekom Romania have signed a distribution deal to launch SPI’s flagship premium movie channel, FilmBox Premium, in the country.

FilmBox Premium, which broadcasts more than 300 premiere titles every year, will be available to subscribers across all of Telekom Romania’s distribution networks via DTH, IPTV and DVB-C technologies.

Commenting on the development, Tamas Fülöp, regional director of operations at SPI International., said: “We are delighted to be able to enhance the ‘at-home movie watching’ experience for the Romanian audience through our partnership with one of the major players in the region, Telekom Romania.

“Through this deal, movie lovers of all ages will get to enjoy hundreds of hours of critically-acclaimed movies featuring world-famous stars on FilmBox Premium”.

Andreas Elsner, CCO, residential segment, Telekom Romania, added: “FilmBox Premium is one of the top movie channels and we are happy that we have included it in our grid and we are now able to offer our customers movies that they will definitely enjoy. SPI International and Telekom Romania have built a solid partnership over the years, which helps us keep our customers satisfied and always looking forward to new, high quality content”.

Telekom Romania already distributes the SPI/FilmBox channels Timeless Drama Channel, DocuBox and FightBox.
