Russia’s leading OTT platform ivi ended 2019 with 2.2 million paying customers.
At the same time reports ComNews, quoting ivi’s press service, the total viewing time for its content in 2019 was 1 billion hours, of which 400 million hours was by a paying audience.
Paid revenues in 2019 increased by 68% and amounted to R4.6 billion (€59.4 million), excluding VAT.
They also accounted for 76% of the company’s total revenues, up from 70% in 2018.
Meanwhile, revenues from advertising last year amounted to R2 billion, excluding VAT.
Ivi currently accounts for over a third of all online video services in Russia, with second placed Okko claiming around a quarter.
It is expected to hold an IPO in the near future.
