ITV says that BritBox UK is “on plan” following a successful launch last November.
The lead partner in the BBC-ITV streaming venture reported a “strong growth” in subscribers, but didn’t report any specific numbers.
BritBox US now has over 1 million subscribers, while ITV Hub+, where viewers pay a premium for commercial free content now has over 400,000 signed up.
There are also plans to extend BritBox into Australia.
Although ITV advertising revenue was down 1.5%, this was still ahead of expectations. Adjusted EBITA was down 10% at £729 million.
Chief Executive Carolyn McCall said “We are making good progress in each area of our strategy and our investments in data, technology, online and in streaming will enable ITV to be a sustainable, diversified and structurally sound digital media and entertainment business.”
Video on Demand viewing for the broadcaster was up 13%.
