M7 and BrightBlue offer Ultra HD channels for IPTV

March 4, 2020 09.36 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

German platform operator M7 Deutschland is supplying IPTV service provider BrightBlue with signals for three Ultra HD (UHD) channels.

The BrightBlue partners can now offer their customers Insight TV UHD, Fashion 4K and LoveNature 4k in UHD quality. M7 added the three channels to its cable portfolio in June 2019.

With the move, BrightBlue is now making the UHD offer available to fibre-optic network operators, city carriers and other partners as part of its turnkey white label solution, which enables companies to operate a multiscreen IPTV platform under their own brand.

“High quality networks need high quality content, enabling them to fully exploit their capabilities,” said Christian Heinkele, managing director of Eviso Germany, the M7 business partner in Germany. “We are pleased that network operators using BrightBlue technology can now also promote their IPTV offer with UHD channels. Consumers only switch from DTH satellite or cable TV to IPTV when they see added value, and that added value is first and foremost easy access to exclusive content.”

As part of its customised white label IPTV solution, BrightBlue will soon offer 4K-enabled IPTV set-top boxes for its partners’ end customers.

M7 and BrightBlue already formed a cooperation in March 2019 regarding the distribution of IPTV signals. The aim is to enable fibre-optic providers, network operators and city carriers to add value to their networks by offering a multiscreen IPTV platform, opening up new business models and revenue streams and increasing customer loyalty.
