Estonia’s leading cable operator Elisa has added 20 TV channels in HD to Elisa Elasmus.
As a result, its over-the-air customers can now watch the services, ten of which are the main Estonian channels, in the high resolution and for no additional cost.
Elisa notes that the channels are being transmitted in new encoding, namely 1080p rather than 576i resolution.
Commenting on the development, Silver Soomre, Elisa’s Head of TV Services, said: “Last year, we launched Elisa Klassik for Over the Air Customers in cooperation with Levira, and in parallel, we also developed an over-the-air experience for customers. Today, we are pleased to note that all Elisa TV customers see the best selection of channels in high resolution.
“A higher resolution will give TV viewers many times a better and sharper TV picture, with smaller details easily noticeable.”
The channels include all domestic channels like ETV, ETV2, Kanal2 and TV3, as well as sports channels like TV3 Sport and TV3Sport 2. Others include Sony Channel, Sony Turbo, Filmzone, ETV +, Viasat Explore, Viasat History, SetMa Sports, MCM in high resolution Top, 3+, Kidzone + and TV3 Film.
