German telco Deutsche Telekom is confident that it will be able to reach a deal with Walt Disney to get its new streaming service Disney+ onto its TV platform MagentaTV.
“I’m sure we’ll reach a reasonable outcome” with Disney, Michael Hagspihl, board member of Deutsche Telekom, is quoted by Bloomberg. “Our goal is to be the platform that aggregates the most partners.”
Disney+ will launch in Germany and several other European countries on March 24, 2020. With the move, Deutsche Telekom wants to fend off growing competition from Vodafone following the latter’s acquisition of cable operator Unitymedia.
Deutsche Telekom already offers Netflix and Amazon Prime Video on MagentaTV.
