German combat sports channel fight24 follows its way towards pay-TV after the launch on the cable network of wilhelm.tel.
The channel is now available at TV.de, the streaming platform operated by Couchfunk, in the subscription package Pro TV. At wilhelm.tel, where it is currently offered for free to promote the service, fight24 will move to the pay-TV packages deluxe and deluxe xl on March 1, 2020.
“We are sweetening the transition to pay-TV for our viewers by upgrading our entire broadcasting operations to 24/7 HD programming,” said Peter Behrends, managing director of operating company Martial Arts Broadcasting Network Ltd. “First-class combat sports in the best picture quality: This is also reflected in our new channel name fight24 HD, which marks the beginning of a new chapter.”
Negotiations are underway with further cable companies, platform operators and streaming services in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to include fight24 HD in their pay-TV packages.
The channel shows combat sports from Germany and Europe, including Olympic boxing, kickboxing, mixed martial arts and Muay Thai.
