The Gazprom Media-owned TV channel Pyatnitsa has sold Amazon Prime Video the rights to what will be the first-ever Russian reality show to appear on the platform.
Kommersant reports that Instagram will appear in March and be made available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, South Africa, the Caribbean and other territories with English-language subtitles.
It adds that although Amazon already buys a lot of Russian series, this is the first time it has acquired the rights to a reality show.
Pyatnitsa has already sold the rights to Instagram to the Polish broadcaster Puls, with the show due to air at some stage this year.
Financial details of the deal with Amazon have not been disclosed.
