Top-flight Belgian football club KAA Gent has agreed to sign up to a new exclusive rights contract with Eleven Sports.
Last week the club has said that the exclusivity aspect of the deal had been “undervalued”.
In a statement Gent said the negative voice had come about because of a lack of clear answers at a meeting called to discuss the rights allocation.
Currently, the rights to the Pro League are split between Proximus, Telenet and Voo. The cable and telecommunications companies are thought to have made a counterbid during the rights process.
Following their refusal to sign up to the contract, Gent was invited to talks with the chairman of the Pro League Board of Directors, described by the club as “positive and enlightening”.
Following the meeting the club said it wanted to join the collective “on the basis of the conviction that mutual solidarity is necessary and necessary”.
It added the decision to participate in solidarity was part of the club’s DNA.
