The Russian company SberDevices has developed a new set-top box for Okko, one of the country’s leading OTT services.
Quoting RBC and SberDevices’s head Konstantin Kruglov, Kommersant reports that quite a few of the devices were manufactured in China prior to the outbreak of coronavirus. However, he did not reveal the size of the first batch or talk about sales plans.
The Okko Smart Box gives access to Okko’s online movie service, YouTube and 160 TV channels. It also has a number of advanced features including record and voice control.
Prior to launching Okko Smart Box, SberDevices only developed devices for its parent company Sberbank.
Okko Smart Box is available to customers for a promotional price of R1,490 (€21.66).
Okko is a commercial-free service and offers viewers movies in HDR, 3D and Ultra HD 4K quality.
