Bolstered by the inclusion of the M7 Group, Canal+ can now claim 20.3 million subscribers including 8.4 million in mainland France.
It’s an increase of 3.1 million subscribers at the end of 2018.
In 2019, Canal+ Group’s revenues were €5,268 million, up 2.0% compared to 2018.
Revenues from international operations grew strongly by 13.7% as a result of both organic growth and the addition of the M7 territories.
In recent weeks, Canal has signed a string of programme deals including those with Netflix, UEFA for the Champions League, The Walt Disney Company (in particular for the marketing of Disney+) and BeIN Sports, the latter agreement allowing Canal+ to broadcast two matches of Ligue 1 per championship day starting with the upcoming 2020/2021 season. It has also secured the rights to Formula 1 for the next 3 seasons.
