Spain’s retail electronic communications market was worth €6.011 million in Q3 2019, or 1.6% less than in the corresponding period a year earlier.
At the same time, according to data published by the regulator CNMC, the three main operators – Movistar, Orange and Vodafone – accounted for 77.9% of the total, two percentage points less than in Q3 2018.
Furthermore, of the 15.2 million fixed broadband connections, 12.2 million had contracted speeds of 30 Mbps or higher, up 1.6 million on Q3 2018. Of the 12.2 million, 90.2% had a contracted speed of 100Mbps or more.
CNMC concludes by saying that the number of pay-TV subscribers increased by 3.1% year-on-year to 6.9 million in Q3 2019, with the majority (4.6 million) being for IPTV services.
