Sky Deutschland offers new movie channels

January 29, 2020 19.36 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will revamp its movie channel line-up under the Sky Cinema brand on March 12, 2020 in Germany and Austria.

Sky Cinema Premieren will offer films as TV debuts, in some cases as early as eight months after their release in cinemas. The titles can be watched one day later on Sky Cinema Premieren +24.

Also part of the portfolio are the channels Sky Cinema Thriller, Sky Cinema Action, Sky Cinema Fun, Sky Cinema Classics, Sky Cinema Best Of, Sky Cinema Family and Sky Cinema Special.

Sky Cinema Premieren, Sky Cinema Premieren +24, Sky Cinema Action, Sky Cinema Family and Sky Cinema Best Of will broadcast in SD and HD resolution, Sky Cinema Special and Sky Cinema Thriller only in HD while Sky Cinema Fun and Sky Cinema Classics will solely be offered in SD.

In return, Sky Cinema +1 and Sky Cinema Emotion will be closed on March 11, 2020.

The linear channels will be accompanied by an extensive on-demand service with over 1,000 movies, more than 100 of them in Ultra HD resolution.
