Eutelsat 7C is primed for action with the all-electric satellite ready for broadcast customers across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Turkey.
Teams from Eutelsat Communications migrated a number of services overnight on January 27/28. These include Turkish pay-TV platform Digiturk, Turkish national broadcaster TRT, and Globecast UK for coverage across Europe and the Middle East.
The new satellite has 49 36MHz equivalent Ku-band transponders and will increase capacity at 7 degrees East by 19 transponders. It will be co-located with Eutelsat 7B.
Eutelsat 7A will be transferred to another orbital location as part of Eutelsat’s fleet optimisation strategy.
