Polish company implements Portuguese OTT platform

January 7, 2020 10.07 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Insys Video Technologies has implemented a new OTT platform named Benfica Play in cooperation with GTC – Sistemas Digitais de Video.

Based on the Insys Sport solution, it is dedicated to Sport Lisboa e Benfica, currently the Portuguese premier league (Primeira Liga) champions. Commenting on the development, Miguel Bento, CMO at S.L. Benfica, said: “It was important to us to provide our fans around the world access to exclusive VOD content that we produce. At Benfica Play, we convey emotions and tell stories in a way no one else has done in a whole football world”.

Ernest Kalaczynski, area sales manager at Insys Video Technologies, added: “We are thrilled that we can expand our portfolio with such a brand as S.L. Benfica. It is a great distinction for us that we could implement Insys Sport solution for such a large and well-known football club”.

The purchase of subscriptions by Benfica fans allows access to all video content using the dedicated Benfica Play portal and mobile applications for Android and iOS. Insys Sport is targeted at sports clubs and organisations as well as broadcasters with the sport transmission rights. The solution is characterised by a unique mechanism of content recommendation and promotion using dedicated lists and graphic or video banners – List of Lists.

Poland-based Insys is one of the fastest developing video integration companies in Europe, while GTC is a Portuguese broadcast technology integrator.
