Distribution of YLE’s HD channels over DNA’s terrestrial network will come to an end on March 31, 2020.
The company has announced its shutting down its VHF network – a curiosity of terrestrial distribution on Europe – and will hand back its licence.
DNA has previously announced that the distribution of MTV3 and TV5’s HD channels will end over VHF will cease at the end of this year.
HD pay channels currently on the VHF network will be transferred to the UHF network at the turn of the new year, in conjunction with a business transaction between DNA and Digita concerning terrestrial pay-TV operations.
DNA says it will focus on cable and broadband distribution, and continuing to offer a wide range of TV services throughout Finland.
