Eutelsat Communications has secured a multi-year capacity contract for its Hotbird neighbourhood with the Spanish telecommunications operator Telefonica.
It plans to use the 13 degrees East position to broadcast RTVE free-to-air content consisting of two HD channels: TVE Internacional Europa and the news channel, 24 Horas. Six RNE radio stations will also be included in the multiplex.
