The Ukrainian regulator National Council has decided to approve the creation of the country’s seventh digital multiplex.
In a statement, it says that it will employ the 174-230 MHz bandwidth, cover 158 settlements and be operated by the Ukrainian State Centre of Radio Frequencies (UCRF).
It adds that five months prior to the launch of MX-7 UCRF will be obliged to inform the Council of its decision on the announcement of a competition for broadcasting on the multiplex.
Sergei Miikryukov, the acting DG of UCRF, said that up to 10 broadcasters will able to work on the multiplex, which will carry 10 channels.
Meanwhile, Sergei Kostinsky, a member of the Council, noted that MX-7 will be the first multiplex in the country to carry radio and as well as TV services.
