Okoo, the new children’s on demand platform from French public broadcaster France Télévisions goes live on Monday.
Targeting children aged 3 to 12 years old, it will be available mobile tablet and computer. It also has carriage on Orange and Free.
The broadcaster’s other children’s brands Zouzous and Ludo will be folded into the new entity.
However, while Okoo will appear on French screens the France 4 channel is expected to disappear in the second half of 2020, following the 2018 decision by the French government.
Okoo will initially carry 2,500 titles, principally cartoons, but with some magazine shows.
It will have an annual budget of €40 million plus technical costs.
