The Bulgarian entrepreneur Spas Rousev has confirmed he remains interested in acquiring Telekom Romania’s mobile business.
However, speaking to Capital he added that there is a very good chance the vendor will opt for a joint offer for its fixed and mobile businesses.
Although separate companies, they offer combined services and separating them will be difficult.
Roussev said he is also more interested in Albania than Macedonia.
He plans to make Telekom Albania, which he recently acquired, into a market leader and see if consolidation with Macedonia and Kosovo is possible.
Significantly, Roussev also said he had no knowledge if United Group is negotiating for a stake in the Bulgarian broadcaster bTV, sold recently by CME to Petr Kellner’s PPF Group.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, last month BC Partners owned United Group agreed to buy the Bulgarian incumbent, backed by Roussev, in a deal reported to be worth €1.2 billion.
