The Moscow Arbitration Court has rejected a lawsuit by Austria’s Fashion TV Programmgesellschaft to ban FashionTV LLC from using the Fashion TV brand in Russia.
According to Kommersant, the same court has also agreed to FashionTV LLC’s request to ban the use of the Intermoda LLC brand, which represents the interests of Fashion TV Programmgesellschaft in Russia.
It adds that the dispute between the two Fashion TV broadcasters has been going on for several years, which is why two versions of the channel now appear on Russian TV.
The owners of the Austrian company claim that the contract with FashionTV LLC was terminated in 2016 due to a number of violations.
However, the latter insists that it is still valid.
Andrei Drozdov, its founder and CEO, has also said that it will in the near future file documents with the court to recognise the decision of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) confirming its exclusive right to broadcast Fashion TV in Russia and the CIS.
