Orange Polska now has over 500,000 FTTH customers, with the greatest concentrations being found in the city of Warsaw, Krakow, Szczecin and Lodz.
Usage stands at one in three inhabitants covered by its network in Milanowek and one in four in Zakopany. Nationally, usage of the telco’s FTTH network has risen to 12.5%.
Commenting on the development, Jean-François Fallacher, the president of Orange Polska, said: “We see that Poles are more and more willing to choose super-fast internet. This is confirmed by over 500,000 Orange Fibre users. Just look at the pace at which this service has gained customers: we gained the first one hundred thousand users two years after launching the offer, and the last in just seven months.
“Since 2015, we have invested over PLN3 billion in the development of the fibre network. Today, over 4 million, or nearly 30% of all houses and flats in Poland, can use the service. We want at least 5 million households to be available by the end of next year”.
Orange Polska’s fibre network currently reaches over 4 million homes and businesses in 142 town and cities, including 400,000 single person homes.
In over 70 cities the network already reaches over half of households.
