Croatian telcos invested a total of HRK735 million (€98.8 million) in the construction of fixed and mobile networks and in related equipment in the first half of this year.
Poslovni reports that the figure is the first of its kind produced by the regulator HAKOM, quoting its assistant director Marko Cavlovic, that does not include other expenses.
Cavlovic added that although investments in the first half of this year were higher than in the corresponding period in 2018, more are still needed in fixed broadband access and in particular next generation networks.
Investment in networks amounted to HRK732 million in H1 2018, compared to HRK649 million a year earlier.
Significantly, networks investment in networks accounted for only 61.5% of telcos’ total investment in the first half of this year.
Total telco investments in H1 2017 stood at HRK1.17 billion and rose to HRK1.21 billion in 2018, before falling back to HRK1.19 billion in the first six months of this year.
