Portugal’s communications regulator Anacom has launched a publicity drive ahead of a change in the DTT network.
In line with many European territories, Anacom needs to move broadcasters from the 700MHz band, ahead of the launch of new 5G services.
The process will begin on Wednesday in the Odivelas Centro transmission area, which covers around 100 homes and businesses. It will then continue nationally from February 2020.
The move will affect the free-TV channels, and although there is no need for the purchase of additional equipment, consumers will need to retune their receivers.
