The Slovak news and information channel TA3 will restrict the availability of its signal on December 2.
According to Rozhlas.cz, once encrypted only viewers in Slovakia and the Czech Republic who have Skylink’s decoder card will be able to watch it on Astra 3B at 23.5 degrees East.
It adds that TA3 has been using Astra for many years, initially to distribute its signal in SD and then also HD.
TA3 HD has been operating on a paid model since 2018 and charged operators for distributing the service.
Although TA3 will no longer be available free of charge to DTH viewers from December 2, those watching DVB-T services will continue to be offered the SD version for free.
