Amazon has revealed yet another new Fire TV product as the delivery-to-TV company bids to enter the TV ecosystem.
The Fire TV Blaster will be released on December 11, 2019 and is priced at £34.99.
It allows hands-free voice control of an existing TV, soundbar, cable or satellite box, and receiver. This includes power, volume, and playback and switching between inputs.
This latest device enters the market occupied by Logitech Harmony and the start-up Caavo.
Amazon says the Blaster eliminates the need for multiple remotes.
However, it looks like the Blaster won’t work with everything. Amazon requires a compatible Fire TV streaming device – Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Stick 4K, or Fire TV (3rd Gen); an Echo smart speaker or smart display and of course a compatible entertainment device, TVs, audio/video receivers, cable/satellite box, and soundbar.
