TiVo produced what management are calling a “solid” third quarter as its IP licensing division increased income amid falls in product revenues.
Total revenues of $158.524 million were 4% down on Q3 2019.
Products slipped by 12% to $82.788 million, while licensing was up 8% at $75.736 million.
The figures back TiVo’s ongoing plans to again separate its licensing business, formerly Rovi, from products. Senior executives are now being interviewed across the two companies against a target date of April 2020.
TiVo’s Personalized Content Discovery solution has just been picked up by Vodafone in Portugal. The operating is deploying the new “Intelligent Voice Search” feature, which uses TiVo’s natural language voice solution to enable users to find entertainment content by speaking into their remotes.
