AMC Networks Spanish language TV pack launches in France

November 7, 2019 10.57 Europe/London By Julian Clover

A bouquet of Spanish language channels curated by AMC Networks International Southern Europe and Atresmedia Internacional is to be made available in France.

EspañaTV will make its debut on IPTV platforms SFR and Free.

The seven-channel pack is described as the “most varied offer of Spanish-language television content marketed outside of Spain”.

AMC is including popular thematic channels Canal Cocina, specialising in Spanish cuisine,
Canal Decasa, with original productions covering home décor, health and beauty; Sol Música, the only 100% music channel produced inSpain; and Somos, with a selection of classic movies from Spain.

Atresmedia adds Antena 3 Internacional, one of Spain’s benchmark breaking news and entertainment channels; Atreseries, with original series produced by Atresmedia, and Atrescine, premiering recent Spanish films.

Manuel Balsera, executive vice president and managing director of AMC Networks International Southern Europe, said: “EspañaTV is now seen on several pay-TV platforms across Europe, and we are looking forward to building on our partnership with ATRESMEDIA and operators across the region to increase the reach of this outstanding channel bouquet.”

Mar Martínez-Raposo, General Manager of Atresmedia Internacional, added, “With this launch we expand our presence in France, where Atresmedia Internacional has been present since 2010 and where the greatest number of Spanish residents live. They are precisely the target audience whom we would like to attract to EspañaTV as it offers
an interesting and diverse package of television channels.”

It’s estimated there is a European market of 23 million Spanish-speakers outside of Spain.
