Vivendi has stepped up its plan to scupper the merger of Mediaset Italy and Mediaset Spain into the Dutch registered vehicle MediaforEurope.
On Wednesday the French media giant filed a lawsuit in the Netherlands with the District Court of Amsterdam.
The company says it’s acting to protect its legitimate interests as a minority shareholder.
Mediaset wants to use MediaforEurope to assst in tie-ups with other broadcasters.
A ruling could come as early as Monday.
