SES renews Towercom deal

October 25, 2019 10.04 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SES has signed a multi-year contract renewal with Slovakia’s Towercom.

Effective January 1, 2020, it will see SES provide the company with one transponder on 23.5 degrees East, allowing it to aggregate content for the Slovak market.

Commenting on the development, Marcin Ornass- Kubacki, VP and chief regional officer CEE, SES, said: “We are very happy and proud that our long-lasting relationship with Towercom in Slovakia has been reinforced and further strengthened by this contract renewal.

“The current deal further boosts SES position in the competitive Slovak market with a strong DTH presence on 23.5 E orbital position”.

Ivan Peschl, CEO of Towercom, added: “We are glad, to continue in supporting our satellite clients with highly professional and reliable services with our partner SES”.

Towercom has been a SES customer in the Czech Republic and Slovakia for more than 10 years, operating satellite capacity to Slovak broadcasters on 23.5E orbital position. It distributes a package of 11 TV channels, including eight in HD, as well as 33 radio stations.
