Three years after Altice failed in a bid to acquire French OTT platform Molotov, the telco has agreed a distribution agreement for its channel business.
BFMTV channels, BFM Business, BFM Paris, BFM Lyon Métropole, RMC Découverte, RMC Story and i24NEWS (in French, English and Arabic) will be made available for at least the next three years.
The agreement includes ‘extended catch-up’ beyond the standard seven days and restart from the beginning of any live show.
In a joint statement JeanDavid Blanc, founding CEO of Molotov and Alain Weill, Chief Executive Officer of Altice France said: “This agreement is an illustration of the modern and ambitious vision we share on the technological evolution of the audiovisual world. We are very excited about create value together by developing many innovative initiatives, around the distribution of information and documentary of course, but also advertising for example.”
