The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMKU) has granted the Azeri telco Bakcell permission to indirectly buy shares in the Dutch company Preludium, through which MTS Group owns Vodafone Ukraine.
Interfax Ukraine reports that Vodafone Ukraine is currently 100% owned by Prelludium and the second largest mobile operator in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Bakcell was founded in 1994 and covers 99% of Azerbaijan, serving over 3 million customers.
