The Polish premier football league Ekstraklasa has entered into negotiations over the sale of rights for the 2021/22-2024/25 seasons.
In a statement, it says they are being undertaken with national and foreign TV broadcasters during Sportel in Monaco.
It adds that Ekstraklasa, along with Bundesliga and LaLiga, is one of three football leagues exhibiting at the show.
The sale involves national and international media rights for live TV games, as well as highlights and news access.
The packaging of the rights will be worked out after meeting with participants at the market.
Ekstraklasa also says it has met with the current rights holders Platforma Canal+ and TVP, as well as Polsat, Eleven Sports, Discovery Eurospoort and such foreign broadcasters as ESPN, Fox, Bein Sports, plus DAZN, IMG, Stats Perform and bookmakers and scouting companies.
Commenting on the development, Marcin Animucki, president of the board of Ekstraklas, said: “We are starting preparations for the process of selling media rights regarding showing Ekstraklasa games in the seasons 2021/22-2024/25. At Sportel we are already meeting the most important entities operating in this industry to assess their interest and expectations in relation to the new tender. We have a difficult challenge ahead of us, because the media market is becoming more and more demanding. However, we have built a substantively strong team inside the company, which has already proved its value at the stage of the previous record media contract. I am convinced that despite many variable factors on the media market, in a proven team of experts we can at least repeat this success and once again sign contracts that will provide Ekstraklasa with conditions for development in the coming years”.
