German telco Deutsche Telekom has acquired the TV rights for the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 in Germany.
The agreement with European football association UEFA, of which financial details have not been disclosed, comprises the exclusive TV rights for all 51 matches. Deutsche Telekom can thus offer all Euro 2024 games via its TV and streaming platforms.
The matches of the German national team as well as other games will be broadcast free-to-air. This also applies to the semi-finals and the final.
Deutsche Telekom is also considering a possible sublicensing agreement with a free-to-air TV partner. This could bring public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, the traditional broadcasters of the UEFA European Football Championships, back into the game.
