The local TV channels serving German federal state Bavaria will launch on internet TV platform waipu.tv on October 23, 2019.
The move will take place during media congress Medientage München with the start button for TV Bayern regional to be pressed at 15.45 CET at the exhibition stand of Bavarian media authority BLM by the latter’s president Siegfried Schneider and Christoph Bellmer, CEO of waipu.tv’s parent company Exaring.
The service will enable viewers to watch the local TV programme of their region as an IP stream. If a viewer chooses TV Bayern regional, a stream is automatically started which shows the local news programme of the region in which the viewer is currently located, based on geo-localisation.
The geo-localised stream contains programmes from the 14 local TV channels operating in Bavaria.
