7Sports, a subsidiary of German media company ProSiebenSat.1, has increased its stake in eSports GSA from 50% to 100%.
Through the acquisition, the brand as well as news portal www.eSports.com are now fully owned by 7Sports. Financial details were not disclosed.
The takeover follows the insolvency of eSports.com AG, ProSiebenSat.1’s previous joint venture partner. The collaboration was announced in December 2018.
The move marks the international expansion of ProSiebenSat.1’s sports business unit 7Sports which has so far focused on German-speaking markets Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
