Amazon has officially launched its Ultra HD-capable Fire TV Cube.
Priced in the UK market at £109.99 it offers access to Dolby Vision and 4K Ultra HD content, while a new on-device processing feature that lets you quickly execute some of the most frequently used voice commands, like “Alexa, go home” or “Alexa, scroll right,” up to four times as fast when compared to previous models.
Fire TV Cube uses multi-directional infrared technology, cloud-based protocols and HDMI CEC, that — combined with Alexa — let people control any compatible TV, sound bar, A/V receiver, and cable or satellite box. However, a standard remote control is still included.
The UK version has access to Netflix, Prime Video, ITV Hub, All 4, UKTV and Disney Life. We’re not seeing the BBC iPlayer listed, but are checking with Amazon.
