The Kiev District Administrative Court (OASK) has dismissed a lawsuit brought about by five TV stations against the regulator National Council for revoking their licences.
According to Interfax Ukraine, quoting the OASK, the plaintiffs did not submit enough evidence to the substantiate their application and obvious danger of harming their rights.
The five stations in question – New Format TV, Ariandna TV, Partner TV, TV Choice and Lider TV – have been broadcasting for five years under the satellite channel 112 Ukraina’s logo on the regional multiplex MX-5.
Although they have been distributing the satellite channel using the satellite channel’s logo, the terms of their licences required them to use completely different logos.
They ignored a number of complaints and warnings from the National Council prior to haviung their licences revoked.
While the OASK has now opened proceedings into the case, they will be undertaken in a simplified manner and without notices to the parties.
