The Russian government is planning to reduce the state’s stake in Rostelecom.
Quoting Tass and a document published on the electronic database of the State Duma, Telecom Daily reports that this follows from the data of the forecast plan for the privatisation of federal property in 2020 and the period 2021-2022.
It adds that proceeds from the sale of blocks of shares in Rostelecom and the other companies in question – Rushydro, Transneft, Rossetiakh, United Grain Company and Sovcomflot – cannot be predicted.
Rostelecom is one of the leading providers of pay-TV services in Russia and the Russian Federation, represented by the Federal Agency for State Property Management, holds a share capital of 45.04% and ordinary shares of 48.71% in the company.
