Streaming service ESPN+ will be the new US home for German football league Bundesliga as the result of a new multi-year agreement with German football association DFL that will begin in August 2020.
ESPN+ will feature exclusive live and on-demand replay coverage of more than 300 Bundesliga matches per season in both English and Spanish language. In addition, the agreement includes live coverage of season kick-off DFL Supercup, rights to second-division Bundesliga matches and on-demand programming such as highlights and magazine shows.
ESPN’s linear TV network will also feature selected Bundesliga matches each season and highlights will be available on ESPN programmes, on the ESPN app and website ESPN.com.
The US rights for the Bundesliga were previously held by TV network Fox Sports which was DFL’s global broadcasting partner from the 2015/16 season.
