UPC Direct introduces new prepaid TV service

September 27, 2019 09.58 Europe/London By Robert Briel

UPC Direct, part of the M7 Group, is launching a new prepaid service. MyTime allows subscribers to switch between packages from one month to another.

Available from September, MyTime aims to provide a flexible television experience.

Being a prepaid service, MyTime focuses on seasonal needs and can be managed cost-effectively: it is charged for the month that TV viewers actually need the TV service and the package they want. They can change their subscription from season to season.

UPC Direct is the first service provider in Hungary to offer both traditional subscription and monthly pay-TV services. With the introduction of MyTime, UPC Direct is giving its customers a contracted service that gives them the flexibility to decide on their TV subscription: MyTime customers can freely switch packages, recharge or even temporarily pause their television service according to their current needs.

With MyTime, UPC Direct customers can decide whether to opt for a Medium TV package that has a minimum upload level in a given month, or to opt for an extended package. They also have the opportunity to add premium packages – HBO Pak, HBO MaxPak, FilmBox Pak, Active Pak – to their subscription and gain insight into other types of programs and shows during the upload period.

For added flexibility, the upload, which is divided into monthly units, can be done any day of the month, without having to schedule it at the beginning or end of the month. In addition, subscribers can decide to subscribe to MyTime monthly or for months ahead, up to a maximum of 12 months at a time.

UPC DTH is part of M7 Group S.A. and based in Luxembourg. M7 Group is one of Europe’s largest operators of satellite and IP-based TV platforms and uses different brands in different countries: Freesat and Skylink in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Canal Digitaal in the Netherlands, TV Vlaanderen and TeleSat in Belgium, UPC Direct in Hungary, FocusSat in Romania, HD Austria in Austria and Diveo in Germany.
