UPC offers 1Gbps internet across Switzerland

September 25, 2019 11.33 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Swiss cable operator UPC is now offering high-speed internet access with a download data rate of up to 1Gbps on its whole network, both in urban and rural areas.

The maximum upload data rate is 100Mbps. The high-speed service, which UPC has been preparing since summer 2019, is available to more than 75% of Swiss households.

Customers who opt for 1Gbps internet will receive the new Giga Connect box modem.

The pure gigabit internet access (‘Connect Giga’) costs CHF89 (€82) per month. Together with the TV offer (‘Happy Home Giga’ with UPC TV) it costs CHF119 per month.

As part of an introductory campaign, ‘Connect Giga’ costs just CHF49 per month during the first two years for customers who sign up until November 24, 2019; for ‘Happy Home Giga’ the price drops to CHF59 per month.

As a special feature, UPC offers 100 days right of withdrawal for all ‘Happy Home’ and ‘Connect’ contracts.
