SES is to drop the MX1 brand from its technical services subsidiary in favour of a single market facing brand.
The MX1 website now diverts visitors to a marketing piece that explains to visitors “With MX1 and SES merging together, we can handle every aspect of delivering your content to audiences around the globe, including content management, channel playout, content distribution, and content monetisation.”
MX1 is the result of a merger between SES Platform Services and RR Media. In February 2016, SES Platform Services GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of SES S.A. has agreed to merge RR Media’s operations with those of SES Platform Services.
In July 2016, the two entities were merged into MX1.
SES has told Broadband TV News the MX1 brand will be phased out in the next few weeks.
